Safety is
obviously a priority with any machine being
placed in an education environment. With so many
of our machines in schools, we have to make sure
the safety features of the machine are a
priority.
ENCLOSURE
Probably
most important safety feature is the full
enclosure around the machine. It is not just an
enclosure, but an integral part of the machine.
The enclosure keeps the students away from the
cutting tools, but it also keeps noise and
cutting chips to a minimum.
One thing you notice when looking at the
CharlyUSA machine is the fact that the enclosure
provides you with the ability to have 4 or 5
students see what is happening in the machine at
the same time. Not many machines provide you
with the same views of the part being machined.
DOOR SAFETY
Take a look at the thickness of the
POLYCARBINATE from our enclosure. If you have a
sharp solid cabide bit turning at 30,000 RPM
wouldn’t you want something this thick
protecting you? Very few machines in the
industry have POLYCARBINATE this thick.
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK
When most machines are in motion, the table is
sliding back and forwards creating pinch points.
To prevent students from being injured while the
machine is in motion we have an automatic door
lock preventing the door from being opened. As
soon as the machine stops moving the lock
releases.
SPINDLE SWITCH
As a secondary protection we also have a spindle
switch. It is not possible to have the door open
when the spindle is turned on. |
