Introduction to CNC Machining
Get started with introducing our machines to your
students the easy way. With downloadable drawings and
step-by-step instructions using our included easy to use
DeskProto Lt software, getting started with the
CharlyUSA machines is as easy as we could possibly make
it. You can take a look at the projects on the
curriculum page, and judge how much time you want to
spend on a project and the level of challenge based on
the difficulty level. If you are unsure of the material
to use for a project, or the cutting bits to use, they
are available directly below each project.
In plenty of classrooms across the country, we hear
about machines that are sitting in the corner collecting
dust. Typically, someone ordered the machine, used it
for a while, then changed jobs and no-one else knows how
to use the machine. It is important this doesn’t happen.
The machine is a great teaching tool and should be used
for years. We don’t just sell a machine and ship it to
you, then leave you to figure it out. With our system it
is easy for someone that has never used a machine to get
started. We have online programs, step-by-step
instructions, and projects and materials for even the
newest users.
Advanced Machining
The CharlyUSA machines are not just light duty machines
for education. These machines are capable of the highest
quality machining. Having being used extensively for
industrial applications, ranging from detailed jewelry,
engraving applications, inlay work, and orthodic inserts
to prototyping radio faceplates and components for
medical prosthetics, these machines have been used for
them all. CharlyUSA machines are also capable of
machining slightly harder materials such as aluminum,
brass, and bronze, allowing the user more freedom with
their designs. To allow the more advanced users the
ability to use the machine to its full extent, we offer
optional programs. Deskproto Pro and Visual Mill are
programs that are used in industrial applications
already, however, if your school is already using
another CAD and CAM program, our machine will typically
work with all CAM programs.
